What is a sworn translation?
A sworn translation is a translation prepared by a sworn translator when required, usually intended for submission to official authorities, courts, registries, universities or other institutions.
Is Linguitum an official body?
No. Linguitum is a private translation services agency. It is not an official body and does not replace the authority receiving the document.
Will the sworn translation always be accepted?
Absolute acceptance of a document cannot be guaranteed because each authority may apply its own requirements. Linguitum prepares sworn translations for official procedures, but final acceptance depends on the receiving authority.
Quotes and prices
Can I know the price before uploading the document?
The final price is calculated after reviewing the document. Language, document type, volume, format, legibility, stamps, annotations and requested deadline may all affect the quote.
Is the quote automatic?
No. Linguitum first reviews the document to prepare a personalized quote and avoid inaccurate estimates.
Does requesting a quote oblige me to order?
No. You can request a quote and decide afterwards whether you want to accept the assignment.
Documents and files
What documents can I send?
You may send civil certificates, academic documents, judgments, powers of attorney, deeds, contracts, medical certificates, administrative documents and other files that may require sworn translation.
Can I send a photo of the document?
Yes, provided the image is complete, clear and legible. For long documents or multiple pages, a PDF is usually preferable.
Which file formats are accepted?
At this stage, you can upload PDF, Word, JPG or PNG files through the quote form.
Delivery and deadlines
Can delivery be digital?
Digital delivery may be possible depending on the type of assignment and the requirements of the procedure. Its practical validity depends on the receiving authority.
Can I receive the translation on paper?
Yes, when the procedure requires it or when the client requests it. The delivery method is confirmed before the assignment begins.
How long does a sworn translation take?
The deadline depends on the language, volume, document complexity, availability and delivery method. It is confirmed in the personalized quote.
